Steel, LLC was awarded the project to modernize the new Thomas P. O’Neill Jr. Federal Building project in 2010 and it was completed in 2014. The downtown Washington DC based project called for the renovation of an existing 8 story concrete building that was built in the early 60’s and had originally provided space for the FDA.

Formerly known as the Federal Office Building (FOB) 8, Steel, LLC was responsible for the furnishings and installing of the structural steel and all of the miscellaneous steel. Beautiful stainless steel and glass rails and bronze guardrails were also fabricated and installed on the building, just minutes away from the U.S. Capitol Building.

This newly renovated building features a number of environmental benefits, including the green roof, street-side bioretention cells and interior energy efficient technologies.
