Major Responsibilities/Activities:

• Ability to pass welding test using Flux Core in horizontal position
• Capable of welding horizontally, flat and in overhead positions.
• Ability to join parts by applying heat to permanently fuse the metal together.
• Experience in operating hand-welding and/or flame-cutting equipment to join metal components or for the purpose of filling in spaces, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.
• The welder monitors the fitting, burning, and all welding processes to avoid overheating of parts of materials relating to warping, shrinking, distortion or expansion.
• Usage of overhead cranes to move large pieces of material.

 Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Bending, Stooping, Kneeling and Reaching
• Ability to stand for lengthy periods of time

Required Skills:

• Must have a minimum of 3 – 5 years’ continuous experience welding
• Ability to read small print on the shop drawings

Education Requirement:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
