Major Responsibilities/Activities:
- Align pieces of detail to fit the complete unit or subunit as per the shop drawings
- Layout pieces according to the shop drawings to be sent down to the Welding department for completion
- Tack weld or bolt detail pieces onto the member
- Assign welding sizes/symbols for the welding department
- Completes the welding process when necessary
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Bending, stooping and reaching
- Ability to stand for lengthy periods of time
Required Skills:
- Must possess 2-5 years of structural steel fitting experience
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings
- Strong aptitude for math and geometry
Education Requirement:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
